Intercom telephony is a communication system that facilitates duplex calls between two parties. For instance, it connects between the lift lobby or car park entrance to the resident's unit in the same building. It is simply aimed at providing visitor-access control, meaning that a tenant can communicate directly with a visitor using the intercom panel and can deny or grant admittance using a telephone.

The telephone entry system provides two-way communication and control of a gate or door through a residents' telephone without having the need of a central office phone service.
